  1. Our culture has adopted a very individualistic concept in life. We focus on ourselves in a number of ways. We say, "Look out for number one." We admire the Lone Ranger. We ask, "What's in it for me?" We fill our shelves with "self help" books. We talk about personal quiet times and our personal walk with Jesus.

Jesus spent most of his time dealing with community. He does not eliminate the need for individual decisions, but he indicates that individuals work best as they commit to a community. That is why he talks about his followers in terms of "The Body" composed of many parts. We are "The Family of God." His disciples were taught as a group and did things as a group. He sent them out in pairs. His mindset was that we need each other.

Here's my question. Are you part of a group, or are you living your life with Christ as the Long Ranger? Are you finding yourself in situations were you have to apply all the "one another" kinds of commands found in the new testament, or are you alone in your faith most of the time?
